Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How many people can be included in a portrait?
A: An 8x10 portrait can only fit 6 people at the most, and the most Myriam can fit in a 11x14 or 16x20 portrait is 12 people. Pets DO count as a family member, so please select the correct number when ordering.
Q: How long so sales on custom art tend to last?
A: Usually not more than 3 or 4 days. There's a timer on each individual product page to show exactly when the sale will end. Each artist may choose to extend it briefly, but probably not too long or they may get too many orders and they certainly want them to ship out on time!
Q: Who is "Ella Brook" in the name of your website?
A: We are a co-op of artists who combine our artwork and sell on the same site. This way we get more traffic and have more success! See our "bio" pages to learn more about each artist shown here. If you order art from multiple artists, they will still ship at the same time from the same place.
Q: How long does it take to get my custom art piece or art print I ordered?
A: Art prints ship in about 3 days, and we ship custom art in about 10 to 14 days from the time we receive your pictures or required information. You'll get a shipping confirmation when it ships. If you ordered a print and a custom piece together, we'll wait and ship them together. Sometimes completion times are faster than that, but please don't assume it will be if you need it by a certain date! We ship via USPS First Class, which takes about 2-3 days within the U.S. after we ship it.
Q: For my family portrait order, can I submit multiple photos if I don't have one family portrait that includes everyone? Can you also include loved ones who have passed on?
A: The best portraits we complete come from a maximum of 3 photos combined. She can't combine a family of more than 3 full-body, portrait-style photos and still do her best work, so grab people together for a quick photo if you need!
In terms of adding loved ones in, sure no problem! As long as you have a picture of them, we can add them.
Q: Can I purchase a custom art piece while it's on sale and then submit a picture later?
A: Yes we do that all the time! There's no time limit on when you have to submit a picture. The artist will start working on it whenever you send it.
Q: What do I get when I buy a portrait?
A: Pretty much what you see on each individual product listing in terms of the style and layout. We've tried to include enough photos to allow you to judge the style on your own. Your finished artwork will include all family members, a phrase or name at the bottom if requested, and then garland / flowers below that, unless you request that the flowers be removed.
Q: How do I contact an artist, or how do I send them my photos so that they can complete my custom order?
A: We have a link above called the "Contact / Photo Upload" page. That's where you can attach photos and contact us about your order. It's much easier for each artist if you just use the form rather than emailing or Facebook messaging them since those sometimes get mixed up with other orders. Comments on Facebook posts are also not the ideal way to get in touch since the artists are busy painting, not Facebooking!
